Saturday 23/10/21 Newquay Hornets 54 Hayle 7
Newquay Hornets came out winners of this bottom of the table fixture by 54 points to 7, it was a good team performance with the forwards showing a much-improved form scrummaging, allowing them to secure ball on their own scrummage and applying pressure to Hayle forwards on their put in. Coach Mark Pearson said there is improvement needed in passing the ball, had ball gone to hand on several occasions in the first half the score line would have been a lot bigger. This Saturday 30/10/21 Hornets travel to Lux Park to take on Liskeard Looe. Once again this will be a must win game for both sides, Liskeard Looe are currently 3rd from bottom with 5 points and Newquay Hornets are 2nd from bottom on 4 points. It appears that this Cornwall and Devon league is very much favouring the home side, generally with the travelling team having player availability difficulty, let's hope with a short trip to Liskeard the boys can put a full team out.
